Where TENS is used to hide pain, microcurrent, because of its close proximity of our own body's current, is thought to work on a more cellular level. It has been theorized that healthy tissue is the result of the direct flow of electrical current throughout the body. Electrical balance is disrupted when the body is injured at a particular site, causing the electrical current to change course.

The use of Health Pax microcurrent over the injured site is thought to realign this flow, thus aid in tissue repair. It's been found that ATP (Adenosine Triphosphate) in the cell helps to promote protein synthesis and healing. TREATMENT PROTOCOLS

Conventional Tens:
This mode enables the user to select any rate between 2Hz-200Hz, and a pulse width between 50S-300S. This is the most frequently used of the three modes. The most common selection is 80Hz with a 200S pulse width.

Burst Mode:
This mode is comparable to the sympathetic TENS technique except that each low rate pulse is substituted for by a short BURST of 9 pulses [200S] at 150Hz. It is a combination of conventional and sympathetic TENS.

Modulation Mode:
This mode was designed to help prevent nerve accommodation that some patients experience. It is achieved by continuously cycling the pulse width and rate.
